I'm proud to support Angela Ream for Flathead County Justice of the Peace. After meeting Angela and hearing her plans for the Justice Court, I'm convinced she's the right choice.
Angela brings real passion to this race, and she's ready to tackle problems in our justice system head-on. She isn't running to keep things status quo. She's running to make proactive changes that benefit our whole community.
DUIs are one of the biggest. Since 2020, I've watched the problem grow here in the Flathead. Too often I see names I recognize, and they aren't first-time offenders. They're on their third, fourth or even fifth DUI, and they walk right back out. Even our County Attorney has said that a second and third DUI look too much like the first.
Just last month, four teenage girls in Evergreen were hit head-on by a driver who, according to court documents, was three times over the legal limit. Those girls and their families are still fighting to recover. That should never happen in our valley.
Not to mention- if you take a look at our county jail roster at any given point of the week- you are more than likely to see someone whom has been arrested on a multiple DUI incident- waiting to see the judge. Unacceptable.
Angela believes in holding offenders accountable through required treatment, monitoring and real oversight, so repeat offenders get the help and consequences that actually change behavior.
That's the kind of common-sense leadership our Justice Court needs.
Please join me in voting for Angela Ream on November 3.
